It is sometimes quite refreshing to test just how much Ehinger motorcycle can be found in a modern motorbike. The choice fell on a 2012 Triumph Bonneville, which on the one hand breathes a lot of tradition and is already visually oriented towards the classic, but on the other hand is equipped with modern technology.
Despite all the love for flatheads, knuckleheads and pans, a new-generation Triumph Bonneville poses somewhat different challenges. Not least because electronics rule here, from the injection system to the lambda sensor.
A few parts lighter, a lower saddle, two Italian Kineo aluminum wheels with 90-degree spokes, classy Behringer brakes, a tiny Motogadget speedometer and a classic Ehinger paint job provide the right visual tuning. But all this would be useless if the Triumph was not street legal and didn't have regular road approval – and thanks to tuning access to the mapping, the road would be its playing field.
