The design process for this Knucklehead started as a 3D rendering. Only after all the details had been carefully planned on the computer did Ehinger Kraftrad start manufacturing the individual parts. "Our bikes have to be simple and straightforward," explains Uwe Ehinger. "We try to reduce to the maximum. Less really is more."
The color scheme is also minimalism at its finest: a simple olive, with accents in black and raw brass. The most important part of the bike, the monumental V-twin engine, is a 1940 Knucklehead, breathed by a Dell'Orto carburetor, fired by a Morris magneto ignition and coupled to an NHPower clutch with a 1-inch belt system.
The 1957 straightleg frame features a 2-inch longer springer front end, a 21-inch wheel at the front and a 19-inch wheel at the rear. This allowed the motorcycle to be scaled in such a way that even taller riders can cope with the seating position. In addition, Ehinger Kraftrad designed many parts especially for this Knucklehead - the fuel tank, handlebars, mudguard, stainless steel exhaust system and saddle were all handmade.
