Far from being a latter-day whim of jaded Harley owners, building custombikes is a genuine tradition of the motorcycling world.
From the 1940s at the latest, it was good manners among enthusiasts to personalize the factory appearance of their bikes with a few tweaks.
So why not embrace the spirit of this era and, under the motto "rough and tough", put a few bobbers on the wheels that are not typical Ehinger Kraftrad custombikes, but revived and largely originally rebuilt classics - such as this 1940 Knucklehead.
The basis is always as original a bike as possible, rebuilt step by step using period correct spare parts. These parts come from our own stocks, auctions, swap meets or friends from all over the world.
About the engine: Apart from the fundamental rarity of good Knuckleheads, Ehinger Kraftrad also preserves the tradition of amateur mechanics of the time - later heads (1941-42) on the completely reworked 1000 cc engine provide more power.
