An amusing chapter in the history of motorcycles: the once condescendingly smiled at Harley tourer FXDX has developed into a highly coveted fashion object. And it’s all thanks to 'Sons of Anarchy', a US television drama. The preferred ride of the bad guys is an FXDX – but they can only dream of the Ehinger version:

As tidy and innocuous as the grey machine stands in front of the patiently growing ivy here, it is totally infernal on the inside: a tuned Screaming Eagle 120R drag race motor, which is sadly not street-legal in the USA. Too bad for the “Sons of Anarchy”. But great for Ehinger: the German TÜV could be convinced with the right arguments and the correct paperwork.

Thus Ehinger Kraftrad was allowed to install the engine - which the Snowracer won as a prize for its multiple wins as the best modified Harley at the AMD European Championship of Custom Bike Building in Faak in 2011 - in a street bike. With around 140 HP instead of the standard 68 HP, it’s reassuring to know that the technical concept of the FXDX is in no way anarchistic. Instead, the design fulfills the – totally stringent - Ehinger standards. After all, the streets are already chaotic enough.
