We are Ehinger Kraftrad. We build bikes. From concept over design to construction.

Our bikes unify the classic line of old Harleys with modern technology. We obstruct everything that counts e.g. the engine or the brakes. These are high-tech components necessary to ride the bike without compromises. If there is nowadays a valve of with a better resistance you don't have to use a worse one. Entirely we keep the look and charm of big bikes of the 30s an 40s.

In addition, we don't build bikes you can win any show but can't really drive around the corner. We build bike for the road. You can drive it from Bagdad and back without having any problem at all.

Our design clearly differs from others. We use within our color code that look like of the past. Many other custom builder have their own style but a customer comes and says: 'I would like to have the forke of three meters and a flitter finish.' And they get it. We build with our style and only this way. If you want to have a bike with a used look, you have to drive it.

To create an Ehinger Kraftrad takes a lot of time. If we have a clear idea of the bike we activate our worldwide network and then the search process starts. Sometimes it is vice versa. We found a rare engine or frame and this is the starting point to search for the right parts with matching numbers.

The whole process can be extended over several years - it is worth waiting. Finally we got a bike that is 70 years old but of an ex factory quality due to the latest technique or even better.

Uwe Ehinger lives for motorbikes - he has been passionate about them for many years. This passion for antique race bikes and sports motorbikes incited him to become a race driver and also encouraged him to go on a 14 year around-the-world-trip. Since then he always developed designed concepts and realized them together with partners. At the end of the trip Uwe Ehinger settled down in Hamburg and created along with designer Katrin Oeding the concept of Ehinger Kraftrad.

All in all it's the same with the fashion line as we do it with the bikes. We take newest techniques for manufacturing of high-level materials and we orientate ourselves on the style of the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s. As the bikes is every piece traditionally handmade.
